Git time tracking
Time tracking from your git history
Your commit history already says when you worked. Hourweave connects to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, groups commits into sessions with your own gap and warm-up rules, and drafts time on the right project.
Every feature, no card needed. Free plan forever after.
Why Hourweave
Your branches, every repo
Link repositories to projects once. Commits you author on your branches become draft time.
Sessions, not guesses
Commits close together form one session, and each session gets warm-up time for the work before the first commit. You set both.
Your identities, matched
Work and personal email addresses, noreply addresses and usernames are matched to you.
Read-only access
Hourweave reads commit metadata only, never file contents, and tokens are encrypted at rest.
Questions
- How are hours estimated from commits?
- Commits within your session gap (90 minutes by default) are grouped into one session, and each session gets warm-up time before its first commit that scales with the size of the change (30 minutes by default when the size is unknown). Totals round to your chosen step.
- Does it work with private repositories?
- Yes, through the GitHub App, or OAuth or access tokens for GitLab and Bitbucket, with read-only access.
- What about work that isn’t committed?
- AI coding sessions, manual entries and imports fill the gaps.
