AI coding time tracking

Track the time you spend coding with AI

When you pair with Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, the hours are real but the commits come later, or not at all. Hourweave’s CLI reads AI session timestamps on your machine and turns active stretches into draft time on the right project.

Every feature, no card needed. Free plan forever after.

Why Hourweave

Claude Code, Codex and Cursor

Sessions from all three are picked up on each sync, merged with your commits, and de-duplicated when they overlap.

Only real activity counts

Time counts within a short window after each prompt, so idle sessions and background runs don’t inflate your hours.

Private by design

Prompts, replies and code never leave your machine. Only timing, folder name, git remote, branch, prompt and line counts, and the session title are sent.

Ask your AI about your hours

Connect Hourweave to Claude Code, Codex or Cursor over MCP and ask what you worked on, or log time, in plain words.

Questions

How do I connect Claude Code to Hourweave?
Install the Hourweave CLI, run hourweave login, then hourweave sync (or hourweave watch to keep syncing in the background). For questions and logging time from inside Claude Code, add Hourweave as an MCP server from Settings.
Does it send my prompts or code?
No. Only session timing and metadata are uploaded: folder name, git remote, branch, session title, prompt count and lines changed.
Can I bill AI-assisted time to clients?
Yes. AI sessions become draft entries you review like any other time, and approved time can be invoiced.
